Why Freelancers thrive in a coworking space like Cowork Niagara
I’ve been working on understanding this for the past five years. Here’s what I’ve learned so far.
- People thrive in coworking spaces because there are all the social benefits of an office environment, but none of the competitive pressures that come from competing for resources within a traditional corporate office.
- Individual members learn from each other in small, incremental and cumulative ways, and that learning accelerates and reduces the time it takes them to build a successful businesses, organizations, or freelance practices.
- Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges our members say they faced before joining our space. Having an environment that bolsters one’s mental health allows that person to focus on the task at hand with greater energy. People begin to rely on the skills of others in the space, and that shared work helps them move forward faster.
The common theme along each of these points is that coworking spaces reduce friction and allow an individual to accelerate reaching goals faster. And that’s the real reason so many thrive. They’re doing what they’re meant to do, faster, better, and with more energy than they can on their own.
